Shobhita Soor and Mohammed Ashour, graduates of Montreal’s McGill University, were recognized in Forbes Magazine, making the 2016 30 Under 30 list in the ‘Social Entrepreneurs’ category.

Soor graduated from McGill’s joint civil-common law and MBA program in 2015. Ashour also graduated from McGill with a joint degree, and both, along with Gabriel Mott, make up the cofounders (Soor, Ashour) and chief operating officer (Mott) of Aspire Food Group.

Aspire Food Group, the graduates’ company, aims to feed the people in Ghana with “microfarms of palm and weevil larvae.” Aspire teaches people how to raise these insects, so that they can later be consumed or sold. This idea won the Aspire Food Group the Hult Prize in 2013.
