Quality of education and program diversity are among some of the most important factors that students consider when deciding on a college or university. However, studies have shown that campus setting also plays a major role in the decision-making process.

During these next few weeks, we will profile a range of colleges that are recognized for their beautiful and unique campuses. Sitting at number 10 on the list is the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

The University of Hawaii at Manoa was founded in 1967 and is located a few miles away from downtown Honalulu, just steps from Waikiki Beach in Manoa Valley. Considered one of the most beautiful places in the United States, this campus also runs the Harold L. Lyon Arboretum—a tropical rainforest that houses over 5000 species of tropical plants.

While science students frequently visit the rainforest to study and do research, history buffs tend to prefer spending time at the Polynesian Cultural Center—a theme park and living museum which focuses on the history of Hawaii’s islands.
