Who we are
At Syn Studio, we specialize in teaching concept art and illustration for the entertainment industry. We believe that strong fundamentals in figurative drawing, painting and sculpture are the foundations of high-level digital artistry. This belief is shared by all of our teachers, friends and advisers which include top art directors, producers, lead and senior artists in Montreal, Los Angeles and San Franciscoâs games, film and animation industries.
For over five years, we have been helping industry professionals as well as young and amateur artists take their art to the next level. Our alumni include art directors and lead artists as well as rising stars in concept art, illustration and matte painting in games, film and animation companies such as Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Eidos, Gameloft, Cartoon Network, Mokko Studio and many more. Our most successful students are incredibly passionate about art and learning, intensely curious and open-minded, humble and eager for critique, share and work well with others and posses a very strong work ethic. If this sounds like you and you want to see yourself learn and grow with us, then whatever your current level, we would love to take your hand and guide you on the journey to artistic mastery.
We have ten amazing art teachers, including top video game and film artists, legendary comic book artists and award winning fine artists and illustrators who have worked for such companies as Marvel and DC Comics, Ubisoft, Eidos, Warner Brothers, Electronic Arts and Cirque du Soleil on franchises such Spiderman, X-Men, the Avengers, Batman, Thor, Need for Speed, Myst, Splinter Cell and Thief. Our teachers are not only recognized masters in their fields but also accomplished and sought after instructors whoâve honed their teaching skills with many years of practice in multiple prestigious educational institutions and countries.
The quality of our instructors, combined with a great curriculum, a culture of excellence and a warm and friendly studio atmosphere keeps our students coming back time after time for classes, workshops, life drawing and our end of semester parties and art shows.
Whether youâre a professional artist looking to expand and refine your skill set or a young artist looking to create a killer portfolio and find a job in the industry or an amateur or beginner artist who just wants to learn realistic drawing, painting, sculpture or comics from a master then this is the place!
