To meet industry standards, products and the equipment that makes them must be tested and retested at every step of the process, as well as assuring that staff is using the same standard with each reputation in manufacturing or development.

This may include manually weighing and measuring, chemical analysis, temperature sampling and equipment testing, including the equipment used to test what is being tested. The distinction between Quality Control and Quality Assurance is an intentional distinction. Neither is interchangeable but both are necessary, with Quality Assurance referring to the defect free process, while Quality Control is a secondary, but no less important, level of oversight looking at the end products.
