Using the Web to Advertise Your Service Based Business

If you own a business, no matter what the size, then you need to be taking advantage of the web to advertise. You may think that the only point in using the web is if you sell a product online. This, however, is incorrect. Even if your company operates by offering a specific service, you can still take advantage of the Internet in order to spread awareness about your company’s services and to increase your exposure to potential customers. Using an inbound marketing strategy, you’ll be able to do all of this online at a very affordable rate, compared to an outbound marketing strategy that consists of print ads, TV ads, flyers and more, all of which may be too expensive for a small to mid-sized company.

Inbound marketing strategy
Inbound marketing is very different from more traditional outbound marketing. An outbound marketing strategy consists of forcing exposure of your company onto consumers, whether they are asking for information or not. An inbound marketing strategy goes the opposite route; it entices people to visit your company’s website by offering promotions, deals or valuable content and information. Once the visitor is on your page, you then continue to offer things of value to the visitor in order to turn them into a potential customer.

Create a social media presence
One of the best ways to gain exposure for your company’s services is to sign up for all the major social media sites, such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. This allows you to directly communicate with your customer base as well as provide your customers with updates on your services. By providing valuable content that is informative and helpful for your customers on your social media sites (such as blogs), you’ll ensure that your customers will continue to follow you. Not to mention that your followers may share your content with others, thereby giving your free advertising in the process.

Using SEO
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is an important part to inbound marketing. It requires that you do research in order to figure out exactly who your target audience is. This includes age, sex, location and more. You will then develop keywords that you will want to use throughout your content to make it easier for visitors to find your site. Remember, don’t just throw random keywords into filler content. The keywords help to attract visitors, but it’s your content that will help to turn them into potential customers.

These are just a few tips concerning successful advertising online. For an example of putting them into practice: if you plan on running a home inspection company, then you’ll want to take web design courses as well as home inspection courses in order to ensure that your company isn’t just run correctly, but that it’s marketed online successfully as well.
