Khan Academy: Video Lessons for Everyone, Everywhere

11 SEP 2014

Khan Academy began when Salman Khan began uploading YouTube videos to help tutor his cousins in math. He started receiving feedback from not only his cousins, but YouTube users who said his videos allowed them to finally grasp math concepts. Video lessons gave learners the ability to rewind or re-watch lessons and thus learn independently. It was then that Salman Khan realized he had discovered something special, and Khan Academy was born.

Khan Academy is an online resource used today by students for homework assistance, teachers as a teaching aid, homeschoolers, and adults who feel the need to brush up on their knowledge. A variety of subjects are offered in video lesson form, from math, to finance, to history. Khan Academy has the goal of providing (forever!) free education for students and knowledge seekers all around the world.
